| CD 154 is the best known of all glass insulators, being the CD number of the ubiquitous Hemingray-42. The 154 was the penultimate open-wire style; its final successor, the 155, differed in having a thicker, stronger lower wire groove (on which the wire rests). Both the 154 and 155 were copied and produced in other countries long after they ceased being made in the U.S. (by Kerr in 1978). |
