PATENTEE AND MANUFACTURER OF THE IMPROVED
REFLECTING PAVEMENT LIGHTS.
The specialité of this Pavement Light
is a series of silvered glass reflectors (aaa) affixed to the
underside of the glazed grating (b), hung on centres and made
adjustable, so that the angle of reflection can be suited to the
position in which the light is fixed.
By means of suspending irons the reflectors
are fixed at a level that will clear the arch or lintel across opening,
which in so many cases renders the old pattern lens lights
completely useless.
The Builder, April 14th, 1883,
writes: This invention is the outcome of an attempt to supply a want
which the inventor had experienced, and, as a practical builder, he has
been able to meet the want in a very simple way.
The Lights can be seen fixed at 47, Old-street,
and at many important buildings in the City, where they have been used by
directions of leading architects.
