This old sidewalk panel used to lift and give access to the basement; it's inoperable, and the ironwork is pretty sad, but the glass is in good shape. It's outside Scott Valley Drug, established 1902, occupying the old Denny Bar & Parker Co. building, ca 1880. The owner was kind enough to let me into the basement to shoot up at the lights; they are an unusual, unmarked pattern I haven't seen elsewhere. SVD runs a nice original soda fountain with actual live soda jerks-- be sure to stop by there when in Scott Valley.
