To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, JACOB JACOBS, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, and in the State of New York, have invented a certain new and original Design for a Lens for Illuminating-Gratings; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which— Figure 1 is a perspective view of a lens embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a section of the same on the line x x of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 a section on the line y y of Fig. 1. Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures. The object of my invention is to provide a design for lenses for illuminating-gratings; and to this end said invention consists in the design for a lens, substantially as hereinafter set forth. As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the |
formation on the lens A of numerous projections B and B, each of which
has four sides, two of which converge and have the form of quadrangles
and the other two have the form of triangles. The projections B and
B range in parallel lines, the triangular sides of the projections of
adjacent lines being inclined, so that they diverge, the appearance
presented being that of V-shaped spaces
between the lines of projections. Having thus described my invention, what I claim is— The design for a lens, substantially as set forth. In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 7th day of May, 1897.
