Specification forming part of Design No. 27,679, dated September 21, 1897.
Application filed August 5, 1897. Serial No. 647,267. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN MEIGGS EWEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Ornamental Design for Prism-Lights, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to designs for prism-lights. It is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein--
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a prism-light embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a section therethrough.
Like letters refer to like parts in the two figures.
The body A of the prism-light, which is of transparent material, is provided with two substantially straight edges B and the edge C, which is in the form of a compound curve.
A series of prisms D is placed on one side of the prism-light, the other side being substantially plain or smooth. It is of course evident that the prisms may be placed on either side of the light, if desired.
I have shown certain angles, arrangements, and numbers of the prisms, but the essential feature of my invention is a body of glass having two substantially straight edges joined by an edge in the form of a compound curve, the glass being provided on one side with a series of prisms.
    I claim--
A design for a prism-light as herein shown and described.
JOHN MEIGGS EWEN.
