To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, FRANK L. WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for Prism-Lights, of which the following is a specification. My invention relates to prism-lights consisting of a flat body with a series of prisms on one side and an ornamental design on the other side. Figure 1 is a plan view of a prism-light, showing the ornamental side. Fig. 2 is a section therethrough on line 2 2. A is the body of the prism-light; B B, a series of separate detached ornaments thereon, each developed, so to speak, about its own center and arranged on the prism-light so as to cover a very considerable portion of its surface. These separate designs are of course relatively small, since the light itself is but a |
few inches square, and the effect on the eye is that of a sort of mosaic.
The spaces intermediate between these separate designs may be unornamented,
as shown. The essential feature of my design is that a large portion of the surface of the prism-light shall be covered by a series of relatively small separate systematically-arranged designs or figures, uniform in appearance and adapted, when presented to the eye, to be seen as separate, distinct, and complete figures or designs, as distinguished from groups of figures or designs. I claim-- A design for a prism-light, substantially as shown and described.
