SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,008, dated December 7, 1897.
Application filed October 23, 1897. Serial No. 656,233. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK L. WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for Prism-Plates, of which the following is a description.
My invention relates to designs for prism-plates.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a prism-plate embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a section.
A is the body of the prism-plate; B B, a series of lines of separation on the face thereof, which divide the face into a series of minor and substantially uniform surface areas C C. D D are prisms on the back of said prism-plate, set at a certain angle, and E E other prisms set at a different angle. These latter prisms are scattered about among the first mentioned, so that the first-mentioned prisms form a sort of field and the latter a set of prism areas in such field of a different angle. When viewed from the prism side, it has the appearance of a field of prisms
of a certain angle with scattered prism areas of a different angle. When viewed from the plain side, the appearance of the prism-surfaces of different angular arrangement is such as to present a field of a given appearance with a series of surface areas scattered through the same having a different appearance.
The essential features of my design are found in a prism-plate substantially flat and extended, divided on one side into a series of surface areas by lines of separation and provided on the other side with a prism surface or field formed of prisms of a certain angle with a number of prism-surfaces scattered about through the field formed of prisms of a different angle.
    I claim--
A design for a prism-plate, substantially as shown and described.
FRANK L. WRIGHT.
