without the lycence, consent, or agreement of the said Richard Cole, his executors, administrators, or assignes, in writing vnder his, their, or some of their hand and seals, first had and obtained in that behalfe, vpon such paines and penalties as can or may be iustly inflicted on such offenders for the contempt of this our royall cõmand, and, further, to be answerable to the said Richard Cole, his executors, administrators, and assignes, according to law, for his and their damages occasioned thereby. And further, wee do by these presents, for vs, our heires and successors, will and cõmand all and singular our justices of the peace, mayors, bayliffs, constables, headboroughs, and all other officers and ministers whatsoever of vs, our heires and successors, for the time being, that they, or any of them, do not nor shall at any time hereafter during the said terme hereby granted, in any wise molest, trouble, disturb, or hinder the said Richard Cole, his executors, administrators, or assignes, or any of his or their deputies, servants, or agents, in or about the due and lawfull makeing vse or exercise of the aforesaid Invention, or any thing relateing thereunto. Provided alwaies, and these our Letters Patents, or any thing herein contained, shall not extend or be construed to extend to give priviledge vnto the said Richard Cole, his executors, administrators, or assignes, or any of them, to vse, exercise, or put in practice his said Invenc̃on within the city of London or liberties thereof, before the expirac̃on or other sooner determinac̃on of the terme of one and twenty yeares (which co̅menced the Four and twentieth day of June, in the yeare One thousand six hundred and ninety-four), to the damage or preiudice of the proprietors of the publick glass lights, called the convex lights, now or late vsed in the said city and liberties, by vertue of a lease or grant thereof made for that terme by the mayor, co̅monality, and citizens of the said city, pursuant to an Act of Parliament made in the fifth yeare of the reigne of our late royall brother and sister King William and Queen Mary, intituled (An Act for the Releife of the Orphans and other Creditors of the City of London), or to vse, exercise, or imitate any other invention or worke whatsoever which hath been heretofore found our or invented by any other of our subiects whatsoever, and publickly vsed or exercised within our realm of England and the dominion of Wales, or in either of them, vnto whome wee have already granted our like Letters Patents of Priviledge for the sole vse, exercise, and benefitt, it being our will and pleasure that the said Richard Cole, his executors, administrators, and assignes, and the said proprieters of the said convex lights, within the city and liberties aforesaid, during the said terme or sooner expirac̃on thereof, and all and singular other person and persons to whome like Letters Patents or |
