As you ride along in a train, watch the telephone
and telegraph wires alongside of the road. You will notice that
at every pole the wire is supported on a cross arm with glass
insulators to bind the wire to. They must be of an exceptionally
durable glass to withstand the extremes of heat and cold to which
they are subject. Whenever you see these glass insulators, think of
Whitall Tatum Company, because for generations we have made them
by the tens of thousands for use all over the country.
