SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,005, dated December 7, 1897.
Application filed October 23, 1897. Serial No. 656,229. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK L. WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for Prism-Plates, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to designs for prism-plates.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a prism-plate embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a section therethrough.
A is the body of the prism-plate. B B are a series of surface areas substantially uniform in appearance and produced by the lines of separation C C, which cross the surface of the body of the plate. D D are prisms on the opposite side.
Upon the surface of the prism-plate and intermediate between its center and outer edge a group of areas forming an annulus are ornamented by means of the lines E E. These lines are produced on the surface of the prism-plate. The field within and without the annulus
is ornamented also by the lines F F, which are arranged so as to form a separate and distinct design within each surface area, thus giving a mosaic-like effect.
The essential features of my invention are found in a prism-plate comprising a substantially flat extended body with prisms on one side and on the other a series of lines of separation which divide the surface areas, a series of lines of ornamentation which produce a distinct ornamented annulus between the center and the outer edge of the surface, and a series of separate designs, one on each of the remaining surface areas, so as to give the effect of a mosaic field within and without the annulus.
    I claim--
A design for a prism-plate, substantially as shown and described.
FRANK L. WRIGHT.
