Through his efforts and earnest, persistent
recommendations to Edward D. Libbey, his associate for many years, he
induced The Toledo Glass Company, of
which Mr. Libbey was president, to purchase the Colburn patents from
the trustee in bankruptcy. The purchase of these patents by The Toledo
