ALTHOUGH there are many books on
the subject of glass, none of these deals
specifically with flat glass, so far as the
writer has been able to learn.
The story is, nevertheless,
one of unusual interest and the advent and
perfection of the Colburn machine for producing
flat-drawn sheet glass is a particularly interesting
phase of that story.
This book therefore aims to
give a comprehensive account of flat glass. It also
describes the development of the Colburn process,
which has revolutionized the industry.
