- The first providing a guarantee that the
most modern and up to date glass technology remains available to SEDIVER
Engineers who can thus study any necessary changes with a view to their
application to glass dielectrics in general.
- The second offering a guarantee that these
special glass techniques will, under the best conditions, find
electrotechnical application which are of interest, in view of the wide
diversification of this Group in the realm of Electrical Construction.
In this manner, and strengthened by these two supports -- glass and
electrical -- SEDIVER are able to offer products which are particularly
well-adapted to Customer requirements, both in equipment and on overhead
transmission lines.
Technical development work over the past few years has yielded results
particularly in the insulation of EHV lines carrying alternating or
direct current by means of insulators with very high mechanical ratings.
SEDIVER processes are also applied, under license, in ITALY, SPAIN, and
BRAZIL. There are also several assembly plants, presently in NORWAY,
the Republic of SOUTH AFRICA and MEXICO, which import the dielectrics
only: the remaining insulator parts (accounting for the major portion of
the cost price) are produced locally.
Out of more than 100 million toughened glass insulators currently in
service throughout the world -- some of them having been under tension
for almost 25 years -- two-thirds derive from Sediver techniques. This
figure, alone, gives sufficient indications of the quality of our
processes and of the efficiency of our Technical and Commercial
Organizations.
