ORDERS
SHOULD STATE
- The NUMBER
OF PATTERN required (see pages
16 and 17, &c.).
- The INITIAL
LETTER of Section selected (see pages
7 and 8).
- The Size, whether "SIGHT
OPENING" or over all, that is, including
Flanges all round (see below).
- The DIRECTION the light is required to be reflected.
- Whether the
WATER
BAR is wanted along the back (see page
7).
- Whether VENTILLATION
is required (see page 15).
Use
Stock Sizes, that is, Frames in stock, and which can be glazed in
two or three days after receipt of order.
FOR EXAMPLE:--Please supply--
Five.—No.
2 B.—HAYWARD'S Patent "Semi-prism" Lights, 4 ft.
2¾ ins. × 2 ft. 8¼ ins. over all, to reflect
towards the long side (see page 17).
Six.—No.
4 E.—HAYWARD'S Checkered Lens Lights, 5 ft. ×
3 ft. 10¼ ins. over all; four to have Water Bar along back, and two
without Water Bar (see page 21).
Eight.—No.
5 D.—HAYWARD'S Rough Plate Lights, 6 ft. 2 ins.
× 3 ft. 3¼ ins. over all; six to have Ventilating Panel in
each back corner, and other two with Water Bar along back (see page
22).
It is recommended to cut the rebates of curbs
after the light is at site; 2 ins. on by about ¾ in. deep is
required.
The FLANGES
rest on the curb-stone, and are bedded in Portland cement.
The LIGHTS
are complete in themselves, and require Bearings generally on three sides
only.
When the Lights have to be in two parts, it is
better to arrange to carry them by a transverse bearer under joint if
possible, than by a longitudinal bearer along the back.
